Thousands of concertgoers to make it a Music by the Lake summer
George Williams College of Aurora University is bustling with activity as preparations for the 13th season of Music by the Lake get underway. The summer lineup has something for everyone—from big band beats to classic musical numbers to fun family tunes.
Seven concerts make up this year’s season which begins on Saturday, June 29 with a performance by Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band with special guest Ann Hampton Callaway. Other performers include country music star Lee Greenwood, children’s artist Laurie Berkner and the vocal ensemble Teatro. All concerts take place in The Ferro Pavilion on the GWC campus in Williams Bay, Wisconsin.
“I’m so excited to bring a wide array of artists who are waiting in the wings to delight and entertain audiences this summer,” said Christine Flash, Executive Director of Music by the Lake. “Each performance will be a celebration of marvelous music and wonderful live entertainment.”
Along with bringing professional acts to the Ferro Pavilion, Flasch has invited lead artists back to the stage who have performed in the past 12 Music by the Lake productions. Artists from performances such as “Madama Butterfly” and “Die Fledermaus” will revisit their roles in a special retrospective, Gala of Stars: The Reunion.
“The show will be presented in a staged, nonstop, 95-minute format with full orchestra,” said Flasch. “It will feature 40 of our original leads. I couldn’t be prouder of our stunning young artists who now sing all over the world.”
