Students are preparing to celebrate a special Homecoming this year with festivities commemorating the 100-year anniversary of the institution’s move from Mendota to Aurora and activities centered around the theme “Back to the Future.”

Mark Walsh to step down as Aurora University Athletic Director, focus on role as head football coach

AU's Mark Walsh announced today that he will step down as Athletic Director to focus on serving as Head Football Coach.

Aurora University has announced that Mark Walsh will step down from the role of Athletic Director this September to focus his time on serving as Head Football Coach. An alumnus of the university, Walsh has worked in a number of AU coaching and administrative roles since 1986, and as Athletic Director since 1998.

Now the new motto for the revamped Spartan Club — Once a Spartan, Always a Spartan — makes it clear how much current student-athletes depend on the support of alumni who still bleed blue and white.
