Rita B. Garman, Illinois Supreme Court Justice, was awarded the degree of Doctor of Humane Letters from Aurora University during its spring Commencement ceremony. The degree was presented by Tom Cross, JD, Executive Director of the Institute for Collaboration at Aurora University, on behalf of the institution’s board of trustees.
Until her second year in high school, sophomore psychology major Kristi Zimbelmann had every intention of becoming a teacher. But those days are long gone. Nowadays, whenever she’s not in class, she’s usually on duty with the Aurora Police Department.
After more than 30 years working in municipal law enforcement, Gary Bolt brings a wealth of experience to AU as Director of Campus Public Safety, a position he has held for over three years. Before joining AU, he most recently worked for the Naperville Police Department, retiring as deputy chief in 2012.
Earlier this Month, U.S. Congressman Randy Hultgren (IL-14) visited the Aurora University campus to meet with a group of students to discuss his work in Congress with human trafficking.
A summer immersion experience more than 2,000 miles away is continuing to have an impact for several AU students.
