The year was 1912 and the Aurora College faculty welcomed 65 students through the main doors of Eckhart Hall for the first time. In the decades that have followed, doors to more academic buildings and residence halls have opened for thousands of students on the Aurora campus.

The U.S. Green Building Council has awarded the John C. Dunham STEM Partnership School at Aurora University with a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum certification, recognizing the energy-efficient and high-performing design of the building.

Tom Cross joins Aurora University

Former Illinois House Republican Leader Tom Cross has joined Aurora University as a Distinguished Fellow. Cross’ primary role will be to promote an innovative STEM education program.

Louis Vago remembered for his generosity, love of sports

Louis Vago, a longtime friend of Aurora University and lifelong Aurora resident, has passed away at the age of 89. Louis attended Aurora College from 1946 to 1948 and continued a special relationship with the institution over the years. In 2008, he provided a leadership gift for the athletic field that is named in his honor.

AU students perform ECG screenings

Aurora University Athletics

The Department of Health and Human Performance, Wellness Center and Athletics Department kicked off American Hart Month last week by offering “Young Hearts for Life” electrocardiogram (ECG) screenings to AU student-athletes. The screenings test for problems with the electrical activity of the heart.
