To further engage members of the campus community in the political process, students are invited to join faculty and staff in viewing the presidential and vice presidential debates on Thursday, October 11; Tuesday, October 16; and Monday, October 22 from 8:00-9:30 p.m. in Perry Theatre. Each viewing will include a post-discussion led by AU faculty facilitators.
“The goal of these viewings is to provide students an opportunity to discuss and reflect on the core messages of each presidential candidate,” said Toby Arquette, Associate Professor of Communication. “With multiple faculty facilitating the debates, students will learn to model civility in public deliberation.”
To register for these free events, students, faculty and staff should email firstname.lastname@example.org. Professors bringing classes need to indicate the name of the course, number of students and the date of the viewing they will be attending.
