During the spring 2016 honors convocation, members of the Class of 2016 were recognized for excellence in scholarship and citizenship. Graduating summa cum laude, Christina Young had an impressive record of academic achievement while at Aurora University. She was a Dunham Scholar and member of Phi Eta Sigma, Delta Mu Delta, Omnicron Delta Kappa, Alpha Mu Alpha and the AU Honors Program. She was a member of the Edventure Partners American Petroleum Institute Case Competition Team that placed second in the nation in 2015, and during the 2016 school year, Young led the GkF NextGen Marketing Research Competition Team that was recently named as national finalists.
During her last two years at AU, she served as the American Marketing Association’s Collegiate Chapter vice president for community and social impact, and provided leadership for over 50 community service initiatives. She was also recognized nationally by the American Marketing Association as the Student Marketer of the Year Runner Up. Young will continue her graduate studies in marketing this fall at the University of Alabama.
Young was this year’s recipient of the Jennifer Warzala Award for Academic Excellence in Business and Leadership, which, as the name suggests, is presented to senior accounting or business majors who have demonstrated academic excellence, campus leadership and character in pursuit of his or her undergraduate degree.
