Spartan seniors recognized for contributions to AU community

On Friday, April 19, graduating Spartan seniors were recognized for their contributions to the Aurora University community, both on and off the playing fields, as they move on to the next chapter of their lives. Among the athletes present at the Senior Recognition Banquet were two NCAA All-Americans, 10 NCAA All-Region performers, 31 All-Conference selections, three CoSIDA Academic All-District performers and 58 Northern Athletics Conference Scholar-Athletes. The AU community is thankful for the years the students have spent proudly representing the university with tremendous team and individual accomplishments, showing what it truly means to be a Spartan.

The graduating Spartans were recognized for their successes with a t-shirt, a copy of “Seasons of Life” by Jeffrey Marks and an honorary membership into the Spartan Club, which enhances the quality of AU athletic programs and the experiences they provide to our student-athletes through membership from alumni, friends and family. Also honored were the generous members of the Spartan Club who helped fuel the success of the graduating seniors.

During the evening, the seniors also had the opportunity to speak with an alumni panel about what it means to be, “Once a Spartan, Always a Spartan.” The alumni panel included Dana Cebular Beattie, AU ’08, Jason Buckley, AU ’98, ’01, and Robert Guajardo, AU ’91, ’01.
