Newly renovated Alumni Dining Hall gets ‘A’ for ambience

Posted by on September 5, 2018

There are more reasons to cheer in Alumni Hall this semester. Students are now enjoying a completely renovated Alumni Dining Hall. The newly expanded dining facility includes a state-of-the-art kitchen, additional seating and a more contemporary setting with new furniture, flooring and programmable color-changing LED accent lighting for a splash of fun. Students are taking advantage of the WiFi and USB charging stations, too. The space, which also includes a new sound system, allows for easy reconfiguration for events and provides students with additional places to socialize after dining hours. The new raised patio overlooking the Quad is an added highlight, connecting students to the heart of the campus.

“In addition to the new kitchen, we also have a new chef this year, Chef Steve Schiele, who comes to Aurora University from Northwestern University,” said Sarah Mays, general manager with Sodexo. “With all the great equipment and Chef Steve’s expertise we are looking forward to putting out new innovative meals for students and faculty to enjoy. Our new serving line provides more stations than the dining hall had in the past, which is allowing us to expand our menus and meet more dietary needs. We’ve had an overwhelming positive response from returning students and new students. We love the new space and are looking forward to having a fantastic year here at AU!”
