Aurora University represented the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference in the 2018 NCAA Division III Championship Tournament after the Spartans claimed the 2017–2018 NACC men’s basketball Tournament title last month on Lancaster Court in Thornton Gymnasium. The AU men’s basketball team went on to face Washington University in St. Louis in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. The Spartans were victorious over the highly ranked Washington Bears behind a buzzer beating shot (watch here) from AU senior guard Marcus Myers. The final score was 82-80.
The men’s team returned to the Washington University in St. Louis court to take on Nebraska Wesleyan University in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The battle from the previous night seemed to have had an impact on the AU team as AU saw its exciting season end with an 82-61 loss.
