Associate Professor of Marketing Brian Vander Schee is adding another title to his professional resume. He was recently named Editor of Marketing Education Review: The Journal for the Scholarship of Teaching in Marketing Education.
“The editor role will help serve the marketing education discipline to publish innovative approaches to classroom instruction,” said Vander Schee. “This will benefit Aurora University in that I will have greater exposure to new developments and tested teaching methodology that I can then adopt for my own classroom delivery.”
Vander Schee has a record of national recognition for his innovation in marketing education. In 2005, he received the Direct Marketing Association of Washington Educational Foundation Joan Throckmorton Award for Creative Excellence in Direct Marketing. He received a Marketing Management Association Hormel Foods Teaching Excellence Award in 2009 and 2011. In 2010, he was the Society for Marketing Advances Pride-Ferrell Cengage Innovations in Teaching Competition Winner. This year, he is the American Marketing Association Pearson Prentice Hall Solomon-Marshall-Stuart Award for Innovative Excellence in Marketing Education Winner. He is also a finalist for the 2012 Society for Marketing Advances Distinguished Teaching Award to be presented at the Annual Conference in November.
Vander Schee served as the 2012 Guest Editor for the Marketing Education Review Special Issue on Teaching Innovations and will finish his term as the Special Issues Editor of the Journal for Advancement of Marketing Education this fall.
