Two lacrosse players are taking advantage of the off-season for study-abroad opportunities at the University of Strasbourg in France. Junior Bryce Wallgard is studying European relations and international business and junior Sean Arfsten is studying communication. The student-athletes pursued the program with guidance from Dr. Teri Schroth, AU director of international programs. While the University of Strasbourg is large — 50,000 students — both student-athletes look forward to applying what they have learned back to their smaller world of Aurora University.
“My experience here has taught me a lot about different cultures,” said Wallgard. “Strasbourg has students from all over the world and learning to work with them will benefit my collaborative skills when I return to the U.S.”
Arfsten agrees. “I’m learning how to be confident operating in an area that is outside of my comfort zone,” he said. “I’m maturing and improving as a student and a young adult. These qualities will help me as I return to my classes and team at AU.”
