Aurora University chosen to join select northern Illinois schools in national seismometer project

Aurora University recently added a seismometer to campus, joining more than 100 U.S. universities and colleges as part of the Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS) project to further education and gather seismological data, including information collected from earthquakes or other tremors of the Earth.

Aurora University will host a unique evening of song and spoken word featuring noted philosopher and author Parker J. Palmer and singer-songwriter Carrie Newcomer on Saturday, September 29, at 7:30 p.m. in Crimi Auditorium. The sold out program, “Healing the Heart of Democracy: A Gathering of Spirits for the Common Good,” will offer an opportunity for reflection and renewal, challenging the audience to imagine and live into “the politics of the human spirit.”
