Aurora University Woodstock Center and the McHenry County Community Foundation are pleased to announce the first in a series of full-day workshops designed specifically to address contemporary issues in nonprofit leadership.

Aurora University alumna named Social Worker of the Year

Mary Abbott, who completed her master’s degree in social work at Aurora University in 1997 and now teaches in the university’s social work program, was named Statewide Social Worker of the Year by the Illinois Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).

The Aurora University community is seeing what 12 students have spotted with their digital cameras in the exhibition, “The Art of Observation,” currently on display in Phillips Library. The images, taken in the Introduction to Digital Photography course, explore a range of subject matter and approaches to picture making.

Stage adaptation of Poe classic to premiere at Aurora University

The Aurora University drama department will present the world premiere of Chicago-based playwright Sean Graney’s “Fuller (and Edgar) in the House of Usher,” an adaptation of Edgar Allen Poe’s 1839 short story “Fall of the House of Usher,” on Friday, Feb. 10 at the school’s new Theatre Studio Lab.

Until her second year in high school, sophomore psychology major Kristi Zimbelmann had every intention of becoming a teacher. But those days are long gone. Nowadays, whenever she’s not in class, she’s usually on duty with the Aurora Police Department.
