This week the Aurora University Athletic program is celebrating NCAA Division III Week. The university sponsors 24 Div. III men’s and women’s teams, which engage some 20 percent of the university’s student body.
The ink will barely be dry on Alexandrea “Alex” Wilson’s diploma this May before she embarks on what most people would consider the challenge of a lifetime – a two-year stint with the Peace Corp in Botswana, where she will work in an HIV/AIDS education and prevention program for school kids.
The National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators (NADIIIAA) recently recognized Aurora University student-athletes for their community service work during the 2016-2017 academic year.
Graduates of the Aurora University School of Nursing achieved a 97 percent pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) for 2016. The university’s pass rate surpasses the state and national average pass rates, both of which stand at 85 percent for the year. Ninety-six Aurora University nursing graduates took the exam.
The Tellabs Foundation recently awarded $1 million to develop, house and provide scholarships for a new STEM education program at Aurora University that is targeted at high school students.
