With a few weeks left until school begins, 50 area high school students took advantage of their summer vacation today by participating in the Future Educators Association Leadership Officer Training at Aurora University. The event prepared students for leading their clubs and provided an opportunity for high school FEA advisors to plan activities for the school year.
“It’s always exciting to welcome students to campus who are so passionate about seeking education-related careers,” said Pam Ferdinand, Future Educators Association Coordinator at Aurora University. “The activities help students develop skills and strong leadership traits that they can take back to their schools. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to familiarize students with the AU campus and let them know about our commitment to education and their FEA chapters.”
During the training, students learned how to run effective meetings, shared ideas for activities and programs, and participated in team-building exercises. Aurora University hosts this event annually for approximately15 partnership schools.
